The „Lesecafé“ at Wir sind Paten Erfurt

With the relaxation of the Corona regulations, our office in Erfurt has come alive again in the last weeks. To our great pleasure, consultations, meetings, courses and our „Lesecafé“ are now taking place again – in compliance with the hygiene regulations, of course.

The „Lesecafé“ is open every week on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and offers the opportunity for exchange, meetings and learning. Irrespective of gender, age, culture or nationality, everyone is welcome exactly as everyone was before the relaxations. However, during this time we didn’t meet at our place, but online. Because during the big lockdown it was said: „Lesecafé goes online“! Through Zoom Meetings we discussed mainly about music, culture and language. Who has ever created the soundtrack of their life? What stereotypes are there about different countries? How is life in my family? – These are questions that have been on our minds and continue to be on our minds during our meetings.

What was particularly interesting in the online „Lesecafé“: We even had a cross-national exchange and, thus, for the first time we had participants who joined us directly from several countries, namely from Germany, India, the USA and Peru.

Even though this exchange was very enjoyable, we are happy that we are able to see each other in person again. The same applies to the meetings in our offices: We always focus on the participants and coordinate every topic, which changes weekly, along with them. Thus, we have a particularly wide range of topics and there is something for everyone. In the last three weeks, we have travelled to Delhi in our dreams, read poetry, debated about Corona and received job application coaching. A diverse exchange that is always a lot of fun.

We are looking forward to more encounters!
