A particularly fine example of our collaboration with other players is our cooperation with the Klassik Stiftung Weimar, which has been running for several years and has now entered a new round. From February to December 2020, a specific group of refugees will henceforth meet every first Friday of the month in Weimar to work on, critically reflect on and discuss various cultural, historical and socially relevant topics. The project is thus located at the intersection of cultural mediation and empowerment of people with refugee experiences: A meaningful leisure activity and the identification of access to cultural institutions are as much in focus as the strengthening of the participants‘ expertise and thus their self-esteem. The project gives them a deeper insight into the history and culture of their new living space – always in relation to their culture of origin.
